Tanning Ledges

Tanning ledges are one of today’s most popular pool features, and for good reason. They add a sleek, modern look to your pool while offering the perfect place to relax, tan, or just chill in the water. Add bubblers, umbrellas, or loungers to make it your favorite spot. A small addition that makes a big impression.

What a tanning ledge is

A tanning ledge (also called a sun shelf or Baja shelf) is a wide, flat area of the pool just 6–12 inches deep. It’s where in-water loungers live, where toddlers splash within arm’s reach, and where the dog cools off, the most-used square footage in a modern pool.

Make it yours

Add a bubbler for the sound and sparkle of moving water, an umbrella sleeve for shade on demand, or a pair of ledge loungers. On vinyl pools, we form the shelf into the pool structure itself, so it looks and feels seamless.

Great for every age

A ledge makes the pool friendlier for small kids and grandparents alike, a place to be in the water without swimming. Families tell us it’s the feature that gets used every single day the pool is open.
